Ms. Cibia George is currently working as Head and Associate Professor in Department of Food Technology, MES Mampad College, Malappuram District, Kerala. Prior to joining MES Mampad College, she had about 7 years of industrial experience at food processing industries such as Mannoor Enterprises Pathanamthitta as Production Supervisor of soft drinks for nearly one year, at Indian Food Fermentations, Chennai as research assistant for R &D lab involved in instant masala dosa mix, for one year. Subsequently she served as Assistant Quality Assurance Manager at Cochin Spices Limited, the then leading spices production company in joint venture with Burns Philp Inc, for 5 years. In 1997, she joined as a Guest Lecturer in the Department of Food Technology MES Mampad College, and continued as a permanent Lecturer and Head since 1 June 1999. Her areas of interest in teaching undergraduates includes Food Processing, Fruit & Vegetable, Dairy, Technology of Animal Foods, Preservation, Food Microbiology etc. She has an international publication in ‘Starch/starke’ 45(1993)Nr.10.s 358-361 based on her M. Sc. Dissertation on ‘Isolation and partial characterization of a polysaccharide gum from Cryptocarya wightiana Bark’. She has undertaken minor research project on processing methods of Vanilla, funded by UGC
